April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month! Each year, the number of traffic-related fatalities is climbing, with the 2017 total reaching over 40,000. Many factors can contribute to these climbing numbers, but one of the most common - and most controllable - is distracted driving. According to the National Safety Council (NSC), more than 3,500 people are killed on US roads every year in distracted driving crashes. There are several distractions that can exist while driving, but the most common is the cell phone, with about 70% of drivers reporting the use of cell phones despite knowing the risk.
